1 "พระเจ้าจอมโยธาตรัสว่า "ดูเถิด วันนั้นจะมาถึง คือวันที่จะเผาไหม้เหมือนเตาอบ เมื่อคนที่อวดดีทั้งสิ้น และคนที่ประกอบการอธรรมทั้งหมดจะเป็นเหมือนตอข้าว วันที่จะมานั้นจะไหม้เขาหมด จนไม่มีรากหรือกิ่งเหลืออยู่เลย
2 แต่ดวงอาทิตย์แห่งความชอบธรรมซึ่งมีปีกรักษาโรคภัยได้ จะขึ้นมาสำหรับคนเหล่านั้นที่ยำเกรงนามของเรา เจ้าจะกระโดดโลดเต้นออกไปเหมือนลูกวัวออกไปจากคอก
3 และเจ้าจะเหยียบย่ำคนอธรรม เพราะว่าเขาจะเป็นเหมือนขี้เถ้าที่ใต้ฝ่าเท้าของเจ้า ในวันนั้นเมื่อเราประกอบกิจ พระเจ้าจอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้แหละ
4 "จงจดจำธรรมบัญญัติของโมเสสผู้รับใช้ของเรา ทั้งกฎเกณฑ์และกฎหมายซึ่งเราได้บัญชาเขาไว้ที่ภูเขาโฮเรบสำหรับอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้น

2 แต่ความปีติยินดีของผู้นั้นอยู่ในพระธรรมของพระเจ้าเขาภาวนาพระธรรมของพระองค์ทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน
3 เขาเป็นเช่นต้นไม้ที่ปลูกไว้ริมธารน้ำ ซึ่งเกิดผลตามฤดูกาล และใบก็ไม่เหี่ยวแห้ง การทุกอย่างซึ่งเขากระทำก็จำเริญขึ้น
4 คนอธรรมไม่เป็นเช่นนั้น แต่เป็นเหมือนแกลบซึ่งลมพัดกระจายไป
5 เหตุฉะนั้น คนอธรรมจะไม่ยั่งยืนอยู่ได้ เมื่อถึงคราวพระเจ้าทรงพิพากษา หรือคนบาปไม่ยืนยงในที่ชุมนุมของคนชอบธรรม
6 เพราะพระเจ้าทรงทราบทางของคนชอบธรรม แต่ทางของคนอธรรมจะพินาศไป

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

- ยำเกรงพระเจ้า ท่าทีภายในต้องถูกต้องเสมอ ไม่หวั่นไหวต่อพระองค์ มองให้ไกลกว่าที่เป็นอยู่ มองไปถึงวันที่พระเยซูกลับมา
