วันศุกร์ 13/03/09 ตัวอย่างคนที่ยำเกรงพระเจ้า (7) โกระเนอัส, กจ.10:1-8

1 ยังมีชายคนหนึ่งชื่อโครเนลิอัส อาศัยอยู่ในเมืองซีซารียา เป็นนายร้อยอยู่ในกองทหารที่เรียกว่า กองอิตาเลีย
2 ทั้งท่านและครอบครัวเป็นคนยำเกรงพระเจ้า ท่านเคยให้ทานมากมายแก่ประชาชน และอธิษฐานพระเจ้าเสมอ
3 เวลาประมาณบ่ายสามโมง นายร้อยนั้นเห็นนิมิตแจ่มกระจ่าง คือเห็นทูตองค์หนึ่งของพระเจ้าเข้ามาหาตนกล่าวว่า "โครเนลิอัสเอ๋ย"
4 และเมื่อโครเนลิอัสเขม้นดูทูตองค์นั้นด้วยความตกใจกลัว จึงถามว่า "นี่เป็นประการใดพระเจ้าข้า" ทูตสวรรค์จึงตอบท่านว่า "คำอธิษฐานและทานของท่านนั้น ได้ขึ้นไปเป็นเหตุให้พระเจ้าระลึกถึงแล้ว
5 บัดนี้จงใช้คนไปยังเมืองยัฟฟา เชิญซีโมนที่เรียกว่าเปโตรมา
6 เปโตรอาศัยอยู่กับคนหนึ่งชื่อซีโมนเป็นช่างฟอกหนัง ตึกของเขาอยู่ริมฝั่งทะเล"
7 ครั้นทูตสวรรค์ที่พูดกับท่านไปแล้ว ท่านได้เรียกคนใช้สองคนกับทหารคนหนึ่งซึ่งเป็นผู้เกรงกลัวพระเจ้า ที่เคยปรนนิบัติท่านเสมอ
8 และเมื่อโครเนลิอัสได้เล่าเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงให้คนเหล่านั้นฟังแล้ว ท่านจึงใช้เขาไปยังเมืองยัฟฟา


1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
2 A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.
4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.
5 And now send men to Joppa, and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter:
6 He lodgeth with one Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea side: he shall tell thee what thou oughtest to do.
7 And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants, and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually;
8 And when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa.
