14 คนเผ่าโยเซฟได้พูดกับโยชูวาว่า "เหตุไฉนท่านจึงแบ่งให้ข้าพเจ้ามีแต่ส่วนเดียวเป็นมรดก แม้ว่าข้าพเจ้ามีคนมากมายเพราะว่าพระเจ้าได้ทรงอวยพระพรแก่พวกข้าพเจ้ามาจนบัดนี้แล้ว"
15 ฝ่ายโยชูวาตอบเขาว่า "ถ้าเจ้ามีคนมากมาย พวกเจ้าจงเข้าไปในป่าแผ้วถางเอาเอง ที่ในแผ่นดินของคนเปริสซีและคนเรฟาอิม เพราะว่าแดนเทือกเขาของคนเอฟราอิมเป็นที่แคบ"
16 คนเผ่าโยเซฟพูดว่า "แดนเทือกเขานี้ไม่พอสำหรับพวกเรา ฝ่ายคนคานาอันซึ่งอยู่ในที่ราบมีรถรบทำด้วยเหล็กทั้งที่อยู่ในเบธชานกับชนบทของเมืองนั้นกับที่อยู่ในหุบเขายิสเรเอล"
17 แล้วโยชูวาจึงกล่าวแก่พงศ์พันธุ์โยเซฟ คือเอฟราอิมและมนัสเสห์ว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นพวกที่มีคนมากและมีกำลังมหาศาล ท่านจะมีส่วนแบ่งแต่ส่วนเดียวก็หามิได้
18 แม้ว่าแดนเทือกเขาเหล่านั้น จะเป็นของพวกท่าน ถึงแม้ว่าเป็นป่าดอน ท่านจงแผ้วถางและยึดครองไปจนสุดเขตเถิด แม้ว่าคนคานาอันจะมีรถรบทำด้วยเหล็ก และเป็นคนเข้มแข็ง ท่านทั้งหลายก็จะขับไล่เขาออกไปได้"
1 ฝ่ายชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้นก็มาประชุมกันที่ชิโลห์ และตั้งเต็นท์นัดพบขึ้นที่นั่น แผ่นดินนั้นก็ตกอยู่ในครอบครองของเขา
2 ยังมีประชาชนอิสราเอลอีกเจ็ดเผ่าที่ยังมิได้รับมรดกเป็นส่วนแบ่ง
3 ดังนั้นโยชูวาจึงกล่าวแก่อิสราเอลว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายจะรอช้าอยู่อีกเท่าใด จึงจะเข้าไปยึดครองที่ดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษของท่านประทานแก่ท่านทั้งหลาย
4 จงเลือกคนเผ่าละสามคน แล้วข้าพเจ้าจะใช้คนเหล่านั้นไปท่องเที่ยวขึ้นล่องอยู่ที่แผ่นดินนั้น ให้เขียนแนวเขตที่ดินที่จะมอบเป็นมรดก และมาหาข้าพเจ้า
5 ให้เขาแบ่งออกเป็นเจ็ดส่วน ให้คนยูดาห์คงอยู่ในดินแดนของเขาทางภาคใต้ และคนเผ่าโยเซฟให้คงอยู่ในดินแดนทางภาคเหนือ
6 ให้ท่านทั้งหลายเขียนแนวเขตที่ดินเป็นเจ็ดส่วน แล้วนำแนวเขตที่ดินนั้นมาให้ข้าพเจ้าที่นี่และข้าพเจ้าจะจับฉลากให้ท่านที่นี่ ต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเรา
7 เพราะคนเลวี ไม่มีส่วนแบ่งในหมู่พวกท่านทั้งหลาย ด้วยตำแหน่งปุโรหิตของพระเจ้าเป็นมรดกของเขาแล้ว เผ่ากาด และเผ่ารูเบน กับเผ่ามนัสเสห์ครึ่งหนึ่งก็ได้รับมรดกของเขาทางฟากแม่น้ำจอร์แดน ด้านตะวันออก ซึ่งโมเสสผู้รับใช้ของพระเจ้า ได้มอบให้แก่เขาทั้งหลายแล้ว"
8 ฝ่ายคนเหล่านั้นก็ออกเดินทางและโยชูวากำชับพวกที่จะเขียนแนวเขตที่ดินว่า "จงเที่ยวขึ้นเที่ยวล่องในแผ่นดิน และเขียนแนวเขตที่ดินนั้นแล้วกลับมาหาข้าพเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าจะจับฉลากให้ท่านต่อพระพักตร์พระเจ้าที่ชิโลห์"
9 ดังนั้นคนเหล่านั้นก็ท่องเที่ยวไปมาที่แผ่นดิน แล้วเขียนเป็นหนังสือ แนวเขตเมืองต่างๆแบ่งเป็นเจ็ดส่วนแล้วกลับมาหาโยชูวาณค่ายที่ชิโลห์
10 แล้วโยชูวาก็จับฉลากให้เขาต่อพระพักตร์พระเจ้า โยชูวาก็ได้จัดแบ่งที่ดิน ให้แก่ประชาชนอิสราเอลที่นั่นตามส่วนแบ่งของแต่ละเผ่า
14 And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the Lord hath blessed me hitherto?
15 And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood country, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.
16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.
17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only:
18 But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.
1 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them.
2 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance.
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the Lord God of your fathers hath given you?
4 Give out from among you three men for each tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come again to me.
5 And they shall divide it into seven parts: Judah shall abide in their coast on the south, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coasts on the north.
6 Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the description hither to me, that I may cast lots for you here before the Lord our God.
7 But the Levites have no part among you; for the priesthood of the Lord is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, have received their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them.
8 And the men arose, and went away: and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, that I may here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh.
9 And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven parts in a book, and came again to Joshua to the host at Shiloh.
10 And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before the Lord: and there Joshua divided the land unto the children of Israel according to their divisions.

3 ดังนั้นโยชูวาจึงกล่าวแก่อิสราเอลว่า "ท่านทั้งหลายจะรอช้าอยู่อีกเท่าใด จึงจะเข้าไปยึดครองที่ดินซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของบรรพบุรุษของท่านประทานแก่ท่านทั้งหลาย
พระเจ้ามอบให้เราแล้วขึ้นอยู่กับว่า เราจะตอบสนองพระเจ้าหรือเปล่า พระองค์สร้างเรามาตามพระฉายของพระองค์ และทรงสร้างเรามาอย่างเฉพาะเจาะจง ...
การหยุดอยู่กับที่ไม่ใช่สิ่งที่พระเจ้าพอพระทัยแน่ๆ..
