6 แล้วนางนั้นพร้อมกับลูกสะใภ้ทั้งสอง ก็จะออกเดินทางจากแผ่นดินโมอับ เพราะว่าเมื่ออยู่ในแผ่นดินโมอับนั้น นางได้ยินข่าวว่าพระเจ้าได้ทรงเยี่ยมเยียนชนชาติของพระองค์ และประทานอาหารแก่เขาทั้งหลาย
7 นางจึงออกจากตำบลที่นางอยู่พร้อมกับบุตรสะใภ้ทั้งสอง เดินตามทางกลับไปยังแผ่นดินยูดาห์
8 แต่นาโอมีกล่าวแก่บุตรสะใภ้ทั้งสองของนางว่า "ไปเถิด ขอให้ต่างคนต่างกลับไปบ้านมารดาของตน ขอพระเจ้าทรงพระเมตตาต่อเจ้าทั้งสอง ดังที่เจ้าได้เมตตาต่อผู้ที่ตายไปแล้วและต่อแม่
9 ขอพระเจ้าทรงโปรดให้เจ้ามีเหย้ามีเรือน ขอให้ต่างก็ได้เข้าอยู่ในเรือนของสามี" แล้วนาโอมีก็จุบลูกสะใภ้ทั้งสอง ต่างก็ส่งเสียงร้องไห้
10 นางทั้งสองจึงพูดกับแม่ผัวว่า "อย่าเลย เราทั้งสองจะกลับไปกับแม่ไปถึงชนชาติของแม่"
11 แต่นาโอมีตอบว่า "ลูกเอ๋ย จงกลับไปเสียเถอะ จะไปกับแม่ทำไมเล่า แม่ยังจะมีบุตรชายในครรภ์ให้เป็นสามีของเจ้าหรือ
12 ลูกของแม่เอ๋ย กลับไปเสียเถอะ กลับไปตามทางของเจ้า แม่แก่เกินที่จะมีสามีแล้ว หากแม่จะว่าแม่ยังมีความหวังอยู่ ถ้าแม่จะมีสามีคืนวันนี้และมีบุตรชาย
13 แล้วเจ้าจะรออยู่จนบุตรชายนั้นเติบโตได้หรือ เจ้าจะอดใจไม่แต่งงานหรือ อย่าเลย ลูกของแม่เอ๋ย แม่มีความขมขื่นมากเพราะเห็นแก่เจ้า ที่พระหัตถ์ของพระเจ้าได้กระทำแก่แม่ถึงเพียงนี้"
14 แล้วต่างก็ส่งเสียงร้องไห้อีก โอรปาห์ก็จุบลาแม่ผัวแต่รูธยังเกาะแม่ผัวอยู่
15 นาโอมีจึงว่า "ดูซิ พี่สะใภ้ของเจ้ากลับไปหาชนชาติของเขา และหาพระของเขาแล้ว จงกลับไปตามพี่สะใภ้ของเจ้าเถิด"
16 แต่รูธตอบว่า "ขอแม่อย่าวิงวอนให้ฉันจากแม่หรือเลิกติดตามแม่ไปเลย เพราะแม่จะไปไหนฉันจะไปด้วย และแม่จะอาศัยอยู่ที่ไหนฉันก็จะอยู่ที่นั่นด้วย ญาติของแม่จะเป็นญาติของฉัน และพระเจ้าของแม่ก็จะเป็นพระเจ้าของฉัน
17 แม่ตายที่ไหนฉันจะตายที่นั่น และจะขอให้ฝังฉันไว้ที่นั่นด้วย ถ้ามีอะไรมาพรากฉันจากแม่นอกจากความตาย ก็ขอพระเจ้าทรงลงโทษฉัน และให้หนักยิ่ง"
18 เมื่อนาโอมีเห็นว่ารูธตั้งใจจะไปด้วยจริงๆแล้ว นางก็ไม่พูดอะไรอีก
6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.
7 Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.
8 And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother's house: the Lord deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.
9 The Lord grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept.
10 And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.
11 And Naomi said, Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? are there yet any more sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands?
12 Turn again, my daughters, go your way; for I am too old to have an husband. If I should say, I have hope, if I should have an husband also to night, and should also bear sons;
13 Would ye tarry for them till they were grown? would ye stay for them from having husbands? nay, my daughters; for it grieveth me much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord is gone out against me.
14 And they lifted up their voice, and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.
15 And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.
16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.
18 When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.

จงเชื่อมั่นและยึดอยู่ในทางของพระเจ้าอย่างมั่นคง
อย่าให้ความยากลำบากหรือความสุขสบายเข้ามาแยกเราไปจากทางของพระเจ้า
จงติดตามพระเจ้าด้วยสุดจิตสุดใจของเรา
ส่วนข้าพระองค์..จะรักด้วยสิ้นสุดจิต
จะร้องสรรเสริญ เชื่อ และ วางใจ
จะรับใช้พระองค์จนชีวิตมลาย
ถวายพระเกียรติพระเจ้าผู้ทรงยิ่งใหญ่..
